Mom jumps into Niagara Falls with her 2 children; rescuers can’t find them

Niagara Falls, N.Y. — State police can’t find a mother and her two young children who went over the Niagara Falls on Monday night after the mother intentionally jumped in the water with her children, according to troopers.
Chianti Means, 33, Roman Rossman, 9, and Mecca Means, a 5-month-old baby, all of Niagara Falls, crossed over a safety rail and went over Niagara Falls on Luna Island, attached to Goat Island, according to a news release from state police Wednesday.
State police spokesperson James O’Callaghan confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the victims were a mother and her two children.
Around 9 p.m., state police responded to the incident on or around Goat Island where an investigation led officers to discover the mother had jumped into the water intentionally.
State police and state park police searched for Means and her children but could not find them, they said.
